a little about me

ME - THE PRODUCER/DIRECTOR

I am Shakira Hunt, a multi-disciplinary artist and branding photographer based in Philadelphia, PA. Drawing from my Interior Design & Architecture Experience [BFA in Interior Design], I own and operate Shakira Hunt Creative Studio (SHCS). At SHCS, I offer creative services, including digital content creation, for businesses and creative entrepreneurs in the wellness, beauty, creative, and travel industries.

ME - THE ARTIST

Amidst the pandemic, I embarked on a photography series titled “Give Me My Flowers,” a fine arts project delving into Black men’s exploration of masculine and feminine energies. This work has been showcased in two solo exhibitions/installations and a large-scale installation at Essence Fest in Collaboration with Planned Parenthood in 2022, where I unveiled the next segment of my work titled "Soft Petals," an exploration of the mother-wound. Over the past year, I have diligently documented and expanded upon the series, branching out into the public art sector as an experiential curator, all while striving to foster community and connection through my art. I am honored to have been recognized as a 2023 MuralArts Black Artist Fellow, and excited to announce my Installation Exhibition with Delaware Art Museum for a traveling show titled “There is a Woman in Every Color” Black Women in Art and my photography series “Give Me My Flowers, Soft Petals.
